Fancy a marvellous day out for young and old? This weekend classic and modern planes take to the the skies in Blackpool’s amazing air show! Admire some beautiful planes from the past and present and gasp at astonishing wing walkers!
It has been announced that The Red Arrows, known for their daring displays and breathtaking mid-air stunts, will grace the skies yet again and are performing on the Sunday. A special Battle of Britain routine involving the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster Bomber will take to the skies on both days.
Tens of thousands of people take to the Promenade each year for the free seafront show, starting on Sunday 7 until Monday 8 August its an event not to be missed!
Cllr Gillian Campbell, Deputy Leader of Blackpool Council, said: “The Red Arrows are a huge favourite with visitors to the Blackpool Air Show and it’s fantastic that we’ve agreed for them to come back again this year.
“The Blackpool Air Show is always an important date in our calendar and I’m certain that this year will be no different.
“The show brings in tens of thousands of people on to the Promenade and provides a huge boost to our local economy, with those visitors spending money in our shops and restaurants and supporting our jobs.
“Last year’s air show was a huge hit with families and I’m certain that this year will be just as good.”
